Join us in building the home of the future
Join us for a hands-on experience, training and consultation in hemp-lime construction.
It is our mission at Highland Hemp House to teach as many people as we can how to build with the greenest of building materials. Several 3-day workshops are being offered. Our schedule is for three days of workshop and three days of regrouping, alternating through the end of June..
As you will have noticed, the HHH is a lovely house. At our workshops you will learn how we build to last, not just for decades, but for centuries.
If you are coming from out of town, please note that we do not have sleeping accommodations on site. Bellingham has many hotels, B&Bs, couch surfing opportunities, and Larabee State Park is 10 minutes away (reservations may be tight). We are located on the south side of Bellingham.
Please not that lime is a material that is caustic to the skin when wet, and to the lungs if the powder is inhaled. Bring a long sleeved shirt and a hat or scarf. We will provide goggles, gloves, and masks, but you may prefer to bring your own protective equipment.
Many scholarships are available to students who are serious about building but may be short of funds. Please address inquiries about scholarships and other logistics to [email protected].
The cost for three days of information, hands-on learning, and discussion of issues around building with hemp is $350. Once you have signed up through the attached link to "Sign-up", you may pay by PayPal to the account info@highlandhemphouse. (notice the address is different from inquiries)
Your host, HHH founder Pam Bosch is delighted to have the opportunity to share our experience with the hopes that you will join in the mission to greenify the building sector.
